Waterfall
This area is fenced off, signs claiming "Endangered species habitat, Keep out". 10 years ago, the area merely had posted No Trespassing signs. I do not have skeptic tendencies, but I have lived in this area long enough to doubt this endangered species warning. I doubt there were any near extinction fauna or flora or animals or ??? in this area. I think the state just wanted to KEEP PEOPLE OUT and since their no trespassing signs failed they are now trying to appeal to our eco-conservation sensibilities
Drybed
Where did the water go?
** although our first thought was lack of winter and no snow melt off, I think this river bed and water fall dried up many years ago, perhaps re-routed to another stream and watefall.

Ski day
Not much snow in the northeastern US this year. We went skiing, regardless of the issue. Half the hills were open thanks to snow making devices. This was our second ski outing this year; my son wanted to tackle the jumps and he did. Accomplished jumper.

Christmas eve day
The skies were blue. The snow covered the land and limbs. The day was glorious. The driving easy. As I drove over the bridge and saw the winding ice, I decided I need to capture this beautiful afternoon. I pulled over, ran back a 100 yards and snapped some pictures. But it all of a sudden was not as magnificent. And then I realized the sun was hidden behind a cloud. My kids were in the car, we had driven 3 hours and we needed to get to Grandma & Grandpas farm. The photo op passed, but scenery implanted in my mind. Snow for Christmas, after all!

I discovered, in my photo archives, it was easier to find stone and mortar. Alas, a few bricks & mortar

Blue sky and stones
Not brick, but some mortar. This building is in Assos, Turkey, taken 7/2011. I love the double stone wall.
